I would like to start this critique by saying that I have been following your work for some time, and you are consistently extremely skilled and express a vivid and detailed vision. The whole reason that I want to do a critique is because I admire your work a great deal, and this piece is no exception.
I see this as a natural progression (although I don't know if you actually drew it before or after) from your "plague" series and some of your demon sketches. The fact that the title is "People" lends a kind of power and irony to the image, especially since your earlier works tended to label demonic or supernatural things with demonic or supernatural names. The almost "common" title contrasts nicely with the grotesque image.
The image itself superimposes a kind of vulnerability (through the nakedness and the "curled up" position of the body) with viciousness (the knife and the head that suggests predation). The submissiveness of the body implies that the knife may be defensive... yet if so, why is it hidden? The "mixed message" there is very thought-provoking.
The technical execution is decent, with good use of shading. I'm slightly concerned with the anatomy of the arm that is carrying the knife, especially at the shoulder... which is hidden, but the angle of the arm suggests that the shoulder may be impossibly low, given the angle of the back.
The only other small critique may simply be a matter of taste on my part, so you should take it with a grain of salt. Or rather, you should feel free to simply dismiss it if what I suggest is not what you are "going for."
The humanness of the body and the alienness of the head make this look very much like a pieced-together thing. This may be the effect that you are going for. But I just want to plant an idea in your head: what if you had brought some of the features of the skin on the head down, and incorporated them into the body as well? What if the skin folds or the pock-marks on the back of the head continued slightly down the back, or appeared elsewhere, on the buttocks or legs, for example? To me, that would give more of an overall feel of continuity and more "realism", in a sense, like this is truly a whole singular creature.
But naturally, that is a matter of taste and style. Give it some thought, and accept or reject the idea as you will.
Overall, very inspiring work, and I look forward to seeing how you develop some of these techniques and ideas further in the future.
